2. Application Introduction of Transformer Rectifier for Seawater Electrochlorination

The transformer rectifiers for Seawater Electrochlorination are used for seawater desalination, Ballast water treatments, Sodium Hypochlorite generation from seawater or brine(Electrochlorination) , applied in water disinfection in industries, miniciplalities, residential colonies, schools and other water bodies, ballast water treatment; sea water treatment for industries using seawater for cooling system such as in cooled power plants, petrochemical industies, LNG terminals, desalination facilities & other coastal industries.

C) Design Features

General

The  rectifier  unit  is designed, manufactured, assembled and  shop tested in  accordance  with the requirements of Publications IEC60076 and IEC 60146 (International   Electrotechnical  Commission)  respectively  for  "Transformers"   and  "Semiconductor converters". 

The rectifier unit consists essentially of: 

a) one  transformer, dry  type, AN cooled included in rectifier cabinet 

b) one thyristor controlled rectifier cubicle, seawater cooled IP31 , complete with control panel. 

The rectifier cubicle is made up of two compartments: 

(1)  Power  compartment,  accomodating  thyristors  and fuses. Thyristor is disc type, double side cooled. 

The power compartment is forced air  cooled 

(2)  Control  compartment,  accomodating   control  and auxiliary circuits.      

Expected efficiency at full capacity is 92%.  

D.C. connections:  

Between  the  rectifiers cubicle and the electrolyzers, D.C. connections will be made with copper bus bars connections.
